Queensland Team Championship was held on 30th November 2024 at Kings Christian College, Pimpama. Logan City sent both Senior and Junior Teams this time.

Logan Seniors had a relatively mediocre team performance compared to previous years but they also had their own share of individual achievements to boast about.
Vaughn Lee scored an incredible 6/7 finishing up at 9th place ahead of most IM’s and GM’s. Andy Lin defeated WIM Alexandra Jule of gardiners and Jigando won against current Queensland Senior Champion Bruce Haliday.Roy Cristuta had a nice win against Redcliffe chess legend Mark Stokes too.
Surprisingly our under rated Junior Team did better than our experienced Seniors in final standings, even though Seniors had convincingly beaten them when the unfortunate pairing did occur.
Logan Juniors finished 9th in overall but secured the top prize in their category (Division A). Joshua Liu also won a board prize on board 3.

Anish was surprised to know Joshua only started chess this year. He gave some nice books suggestions
Neo had a winning position against Anish after the IM overlooked a rook sac on h7 but couldn’t convert and blundered it away 🙂
